Initiated in January 2007, the Sandarbh Shala project aim to address the issue of educational marginalization of tribal children through action research and by promotion of good quality education.

Sandarbh Shala Project emanates from a major national concern of providing good quality education to the tribal children. The project proposes to reach an understanding of the key issues in elementary education of tribal children through action research on classroom practices, school organisation & atmosphere and community's involvement in schooling of children.

The aim was to develop an appropriate and effective package for the education of tribal children. The project was running in two tribal blocks namely Shahbad and Kishanganj of Baran district where Sahariya tribal population predominates.
